Three Day Late "Friday Fun Facts"

I am a bit late on the Friday Fun Facts this week. Between my good friend's birthday, my uncle's wedding, and labor day - it's been a heck of a weekend. Anyway, here goes.

5 Random Facts:
1 Chlorophyll is a green pigment found in all plants, it is vital for photosynthesis to take place.
2 Byron Godbersen turned the town of Ida Grove, IA into a castle town after making a fortune as a business man.
3 50% of U.S. pizzas are sold with pepperoni on them.
4 Most alcoholic beverages contain all 13 minerals necessary to sustain human life.
5 Pittsburgh is the only city where all major sports teams have the same colors: black and gold.

4 Things I love this week:
1 I enjoyed eating at Jazz-Louisiana Kitchen for the first time. It was really tasty & I recommend it to everyone.
2 I had an awesome time hanging out with family this weekend at my uncle's wedding - tailgating, watching my brothers be ridiculous, and generally having a lot of fun.
3 Playing chicken on the highway with a Dodge Ram & watching him freak out as I cut back over into my lane at the last possible second. It was a huge adrenaline rush!
4 Spending some time with some friends I had not seen in a while & laughing a lot while doing so. It's always nice to see people that you spend too much time missing.

3 Things I hate this week:
1 Starting school.
2 Having to get new tires because I ran over the biggest piece of metal possible on the road and got a flat.
3 Tony being a sickhead all week and having all sorts of issues like allergies, rashes, and fevers.

2 Random Facts about ME:
1 When I was little I used to wear shorts when my brothers and I would swim or run through sprinklers because I thought that it wasn't fair that they got to wear shorts and I had to wear a bathing suit. I didn't understand that they were also wearing bathing suits.
2 One of my best friends is someone whom I have never met in person, but have probably had more long serious conversations with than many of my other friends.

1 Question, so I can learn a fact about YOU:
1 If you were stranded on a lonely beach, what are the five things that you would want to survive?

My Answer: a solar panel & a wind generator (for electricity), a laptop, a friend, and a pillow.

Peace,

Friday Fun Facts

Hey -

I think I am going to start posting some fun facts on Fridays, 5-4-3-2-1 style.

5 Random Facts:
1 About 98% of Egypt's population lives along the Nile River, which is barely 1/3 of its land area.
2 A kangaroo can't jump unless its tail is touching the ground.
3 A person at rest generates as much heat as a 100 watt light bulb.
4 A Saudi Arabian woman can get a divorce if her husband doesn't give her coffee.
5 In the 40's, the Bich pen was changed to Bic for fear that Americans would pronounce it 'Bitch.'

4 Things I love this week:

1 Tony (with some of my help) accomplished a huge life goal.
2 I got $50 from selling a book on Amazon - and now I can get my hair cut.
3 Tony's mom gave me 2 boxes of Rice Krispies so that I can make a bunch of Rice Krispie Treats for EVERYONE!
4 The new recipe I created (Balsamic Bruschetta Chicken) almost entirely ON MY OWN. One of the few recipes I've invented that I am very proud of.

3 Things I hate this week:
1 Becoming the meat part of a car sandwich. People need to learn to drive better.
2 The hot pink car I saw driving today - I want all other hot pink car owners to know that I automatically assume you are not very smart if you have a hot pink car.
3 I still do not own the new Punchline album, Delightfully Pleased.

2 Random Facts about ME:
1 I used to be afraid of sleeping near windows, I still have trouble sleeping with the window open at night. I absolutely can not sleep if I can see out of the window.
2 I think it is extremely strange when people use the phrase "My Dogs are Barkin'!" when referring to their feet hurting. It makes absolutely no sense.

1 Question, so I can learn a fact about YOU:
1  If you could have lunch with any three people (real or fictitious, from any time period, dead or alive), which three people would you choose and why?

I would choose the Dalai Lama, Brandon Boyd (lead singer of Incubus), and Mark Twain - because I think that it would probably be the most amazing conversation I've ever had in my life.

Until next time,

Balsmic Bruschetta Chicken Pasta.

Second post of the day - but it's for a good cause.

I made this amazing pasta for lunch today. I got the idea for it from a different recipe, but then I drastically changed it to make it into a pasta - rather than a chicken sandwich.

What you need:
1 lb of chicken, sliced into small pieces
3-4 roma tomatoes or 1 large tomato, diced
1/2 cup olive oil
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 packet Sweet Tomato Bruschetta Dip mix (by Kraft-I think I got it in the salad dressing aisle at Wal-Mart by the Hidden Valley packets)
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 cup (when dry) mini bow-tie pasta
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

What you do:
First, you slice the chicken up and throw it in a skillet on med-high heat & cook until the pieces are no longer pink. Also, start boiling the water for the pasta - when it is ready throw the pasta in. While the chicken is cooking & the pasta boiling, you can dice up the tomatoes. Then mix them with the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and the bruschetta mix. Set it aside.

When the chicken and pasta are done, add the bruschetta and the pasta to the skillet. Stir them all together to mix and then sprinkle with the Italian seasoning. Finally, cover the mixture with mozzarella cheese. Cover with a lid and let it sit on low heat for about 5 minutes so that the cheese melts.

And that's all! It's super easy to make and it tasted SO good.

Everyone should go make some and try it and then tell me whether you liked it.
